Plants consists of plant cells. Plant cells have a lot of the same organelles as animal cells but they also have some organelles that animal cells don't have.
The Plant Cell
Cell Membrane
The cell membrane decides what may enter and leave the cell. It is made of out phosphor lipids and protein.
Mitochondria
The mitochondria are the power stations of the cell. The majority of the respiration chemical reactions take place in the mitchondria. The mitochindria are found in the cytoplasm.
Cell Wall
The cell wall is made of cellulose fibres. The cell wall allows the cell to fill with water without bursting and provides structure to the cell and to the plant.
Cytoplasm
The cytoplasm is the liquid part of the cell and it consists mainly of water. A lot of the cell's chemical reactions occur in the cyto-plasm.
Chloroplast
Chloroplasts are where the energy from light is used to produce sugar from carbon dioxide and water.
Nucleus
The nucleus contains the DNA. The nucleus also controls everything which take place inside the.
Vacuole
The vacuole is filled with fluid or sap which helps provide structure to the cell and the plant.
Ribosomes
The ribosomes are the site of protein production. They are found in the cytopplasm.
